Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll was my first series as both writer and illustrator for SPRQ Media. Alice has always been a significant story to me and my art career, and it is such an honor to have been such a contributer for this series!

I wanted the art style to be unique and to be a nostalgic child-book style while having an edgier vibe as well. I did this by keeping the characters in light-pastel colors with soft, round shapes, while adding some framing assets that were sharper in shape and had more saturated colors.

I was so impressed by the casting and production efforts for this series. There was so much hard work that went into it, and it makes me so happy to see it all come out now!

. . . Now to see a cat about a sequel?

Cosmic Creatures by Jason Nord is a brilliantly written Sci-Fi adventure with beautifully written characters. This series was my first assignment for SPRQ Media and the first few chapters made me sob.

When discovering the art style for this series, I loved the contrast between the grim, mental perspective of the earthly characters as they struggled with very real issues, and the vibrant, dynamic descriptions of the otherworldly creatures. This inspired me to keep the illustration colors dim and monotone but the alien creatures and environment vibrant and highly saturated! To me, this adequately illustrated the difference between the character’s life and day-to-day issues and this new, exciting, dangerous development.

Special thank you to the producer Hailey for all her helpful notes and feedback while illustrating these, as well as the author, Jason Nord; not only did he write an awesome story that was a delight to read, but he also created a spreadsheet to help me reference all the different creatures that appear in his script!
